Yellow Charleston Wedding - Magnolia Plantation & Gardens
Yellow Charleston Wedding - Magnolia Plantation & Gardens.
Magnolia Plantation is one of Charleston's most beautiful venues and weddings held there are always fabulous. A Carriage House wedding features a stunning indoor space for any reception and the plantation's natural beauty is an ideal backdrop for the perfect ceremony. Kelly and David's wedding day was a little bit of traditional and a whole lot of unique goodness and Bridgit was on hand for all of the festivities! Kelly's bridal look was half southern charm and half flower child with a pale yellow bodice and flowing white skirt for her wedding gown coupled with a beautiful floral crown. Yellow and silver heels rounded out the bright and bubbly ensemble! The bridal party carried huge paper flowers on their way down the aisle, with a groomsman on either side sporting a matching paper boutonniere.
While Kelly was taking some amazing bridal portraits with Bridgit, David was waiting patiently for her to arrive. Decked out in a dark blue suit with black shoes and a fun patterned bowtie, he was the epitome of cool despite the muggy summer air. When Kelly made her way down the aisle, he was all smiles and a little bit awestruck in how amazing she looked. Their ceremony was particularly special for Kelly because the duo was married by her father. Sunlight pouring through a pale yellow curtain was the perfect background as Kelly and David recited those sacred words and became newlyweds.
After they spent a few moments celebrating with friends and family, the couple followed Bridgit out into the plantation for some portraits. A rustic dock overlooking the Ashley River offered stunning views of the surrounding wetlands and the couple looked amazing with the dark water stretching out behind them. The sprawling live oaks provided a canopy of Spanish moss that added a touch of southern charm and lowcountry flavor to the portraits. Before long, the smell of tacos was too much to ignore and they jetted back to the Carriage House for the reception.
Blue and yellow was everywhere and it was amazing! The yellow curtain went up into the rafter to created a bright canopy for the events below. Tiny blue vases held bright yellow sunflowers, roses and lilies. Guests were encouraged to share a few words and even a few pictures using a special hashtag for the event and to eat ALL THE TACOS. One of the most unique dinner options we've seen, the build your own taco bar was a smashing success. And, in another twist of fun uniqueness, donuts were served instead of cake. We love everything about the reception and everything about the day in general. From Kelly's gorgeous bridal look to the jaw-dropping newlywed portraits to the incredibly fun reception, there was not a dull moment and we are so blessed that we could be there for all of it.
