Weaverville NC Bridal Shoot
Weaverville NC Bridal Shoot.
When approached by Danielle Sewall, the owner of Freshaire Salon & Spa in downtown Weaverville, about helping her put together a shoot to show off the talents of her hair/makeup team as well as the dresses that her new suitemate would be carrying at the new Meadowbrook Bridal I was thrilled.
continued: Danielle’s space is huge, well lit, comfortable, and full of talented hair and makeup artists so I knew that whatever models I ended up with would be styled perfectly. When I saw the space next door that will soon become Meadowbrooke Bridal I knew immediately that Daria of Dream Events By Daria would be able to make the mantle pop.
We chose to stay indoors for this styled shoot to show off the new bridal space, one full of natural and not yellow fluorescent lights - which honestly when wedding dress shopping is so important. The wrong lighting does SUCH a disservice to the dresses. When I’m putting together styled shoots I try to bring in as many local vendors as possible - so I asked Leah of Cultivated Cocktails and H&H Distillery (my old college roommate) if she could concoct a cocktail just for this shoot. She invented the “Roses for Meadowbrooke,” and I hear it tasted as sweet as it looked. It’s the second time I’ve requested a “feminine and pink or blue drink with flowers” and she nailed it again.
Heather, one of my brides who owns Painted Pine Studios, made the stationery for the bridal shop and designed handouts for Brooke to be able to distribute that also doubled as a fun background for detail shots. Love & Butter Baking Co. made the cookies. Cookies are fast becoming a favorite favor at weddings and since I didn’t want to pull focus from the dresses and veils (which Meadowbrooke’s owner makes herself through her other businesses, Meadowbrooke Bespoke) we opted for them over an elaborate cake - the irony being the cookies were so impressive they would have upstaged most cakes.
The jewelry was stunning and loaned to us by Asheville’s Reed’s jewelers.
They said it was the first time corporate had asked them to do something like that - and I’m so grateful their social media person reached out to them on my behalf because the rings were amazing and the earrings were the perfect accessories. Two of the dress were by Eddy K and two were designed by Hayley Paige. Our models, Allison Rhodes and Angel Assad looked stunning in both. Brooke truly has an eye for detail and her dress selection is proof of that.
Brooke, Meadowbrooke’s owner, named the businesses after her childhood home - and I’m a sucker for a business designed around intimate and personal details. Those businesses tend to stay grounded and keep the experience personalized.
The space will be opening soon and future Asheville area brides are in for a treat when they walk into the space. Plus, they can pop next door to Freshaire Salon & Spa and grab a massage after they choose “the” dress. The spa has done the hair and makeup for several of my 2019 and will be doing hair and makeup for some of my 2020 brides as well - they are amazing at what they do.
