Wallace NC Wedding at River Landing
Wallace NC Wedding. From the Bride: Lucas and I met thirteen years ago, freshman year of High school. We were assigned seats next to one another in English class and instantly became friends. He was the class clown and I was the goodie two shoes. Over the next two years we became best friends and developed stronger feelings for one another. We became an “item” December 1, 2005. He will probably kill me for saying this but I made the first move and kissed him at our friends sweet 16th birthday party and I was the first to say “I love you.” We both graduated in 2007, he went to the University of Charlotte and I attended North Carolina State. We had our struggles over the 4 years but remained committed to one another. Once I graduated from NC State, I took a job in Delaware while he remained in Raleigh. Within the first few months of the move we decided it was best to breakup. An entire year went by with no communication between the two of us. It was Labor Day weekend 2012, I was home for a few days when I realized I missed Lucas and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I wrote him this long letter that I planned to mail to him once I got back to Delaware. My mom quickly talked me out of sending the letter. She said you are home now, call him and see if he will meet up with you. I had never been so nervous to call him, once I worked up the nerves I reached out to him and he agreed to meet with me. We decided to take things slow and see what happens but we both knew if we wanted the relationship to work I would need to move back to Raleigh. The summer of 2013 my lease was up in Delaware and I had made the decision to move back home. Our relationship was so much stronger after that year apart from one another. We both needed to grow up and experience life alone. On April, 11 2015 he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Surprising me is pretty hard as I like to plan and know everything. That year for valentines I had given Lucas an envelope to open each month and inside had a pre-planned date for us. The month of April was a beach trip, he managed to plan the proposal during this trip. He had two of his friends head down early to set up and get in position for taking photos before the event went down. Lucas casually asked me if I would want to take stroll down the beach at Shell Island. As we were walking I noticed this big tent at the end of the beach and the nosy person I am had to get a closer look. As we got closer I noticed rose petals scattered on the beach and a vase of roses under the tent. Under the tent was a photo album that I started to flip through, it consisted of pictures of Lucas and me through the years. I got so nervous while flipping, I stopped. Lucas insisted I continue and on the last page was a picture of the ring. As I turned around he was down on one knee and I quickly said “yes.”
