Tips for Attending Bridal Shows
Tips for Attending Bridal Shows.
As a newly-engaged lady, attending a North Carolina bridal show is almost a rite of passage. But it can be overwhelming! You’re suddenly faced with all of the decisions you have to make when planning your wedding, and the list can be long and daunting. Fortunately, if you’re armed with a little knowledge, you can get the most out of your next bridal fair – and have fun, too!
First things first, do your research. Not all bridal shows are the same, nor do they have the same vendors. If your goal is to learn about local vendors, venue options, new trends and more, you’ll want to find a expo that meets your needs.
RSVP or purchase tickets ahead of time. You’ll not only save money but you’ll save time, as well.
Make a plan. Go in with an idea of what information you need, which vendors you’re excited to meet and what you want to get out of the experience. Create a list of the top four or five vendors you want to see and then scope out where they are in the event space. If there is time left over, there’s still plenty for you to see.
Bring your trusted advisors. Keep your group small and invite loved ones to tag along that support your vision. If you’re pining to make contact with a certain vendor, venue or service, make sure your guests will be helpful when you seek them out and not downplay their work.
Be selective with your contact information. If you give a vendor your contact information, be sure to respond. Even if you aren’t interested, let them know.
You don’t need every piece of swag. Sampling cake flavors, grabbing a card of a vendor you’re interested in or taking a photo op with a fun sign is great. But you don’t need all the tchotchkes given to you at every booth. Be selective. Leave the rest.
Pre-print labels for easy distribution. One good thing about bridal fairs is there are lots of ways to win free stuff! By having pre-printed labels with your name, contact information and wedding date, it makes it easy to enter.
Document what you like. The worst thing is to get home and not remember the name of a venue or photographer. Jot down notes and take pictures to document everything you love.
Do a bridal fair debrief. After the event, sit down with those who went with you and discuss things you liked/didn’t like. Make a list of the vendors that impressed you and be sure to follow up with them as soon as you can!
Bridal shows make the wedding planning process easier by allowing you to see many vendors, services and new trends all in one convenient location! Don’t let the large crowds or endless options get to you. Make the bridal show work for you and it’ll be the jumpstart you need to plan that special day!
