Southern Pines Horse Farm Wedding

Southern Pines Horse Farm Wedding

Southern Pines Horse Farm Wedding

Hannah and Andy's Southern Pines horse farm wedding day was beautiful. It took place at a new venue in Southern Pines, Twin Fields Farms, which is a horse farm lined with white picket fences and beautiful green fields. The mix of ivory, blush pink and gold ties everything together for this lovely venue and this beautiful couple!

Below is a Q&A with the Bride, Hannah, giving us all the lovely details!

Bride's profession:

Nanny

Grooms's profession:

Account Manager at Dreambox Learning

How/where/when did you meet?

We met in 2011 while we were both working at Solas in Downtown Raleigh. I was a cocktail waitress on the rooftop bar and he was the Restaurant/Nightclub photographer.

How/where/when did the proposal happen?

Andy proposed to me on December 19 of 2015. He took me to see The Nutcracker downtown, and then we were planning to eat dinner after. As we were heading to Garland for dinner we walked past the skating rink they set up every winter, and Andy stopped and pointed out all of the lights and how pretty it looked. Then he said sweet things that I cannot remember and gave me the ring!

Please describe your wedding invitations (include where they were made):

The invitations were made by LaDonna at The Desktop Diva. I wanted something that was simple and would go with other design choices I made for the wedding. I knew I wanted a classic style with a little bit of glam, so we went with ecru stationary and metallic gold font. I loved the raw, gold edges the most!

Describe how you found the wedding dress and where it was purchased.

I went to about 3 different dress shops looking for a dress and of course the dress was at the first place we went. I got the dress from NY Bride and Groom in Garner, NC. I loved that it had a hint of color to it and was more fun than a traditional white dress.Dress Designer: Essense of Australia Shoe Designer: Badgley Mischka Veil Designer: Bliss Bridal Veils on Etsy Jewelry Designer: Pearl earrings and necklace are from Belk fine jewelry departmentGroom Attire: Photographer suit from Express

What was your vision/style/theme/color scheme for the wedding?

I really did not have a specific theme for my wedding, I just knew I wanted a light and airy color palette that played off of the farm's beauty. I really just wanted something classic that I would not look at in a few years and think was really outdated.

Please list your color palette.

Ivory, Blush Pink, and Gold

What types of flowers were used throughout the wedding?

Bridal Bouquet: ivory and Blush Roses, Mums, Eucalyptus Stems, and greenery, Ceremony: Backdrop of 2 different types of Jasmine and Holly bushes, Centerpieces: Vases of Spray Roses and Babys Breath

Describe the ceremony and what made it special.

We kept the ceremony short due to the heat, but I loved the message from Reverend Ken Cross (who was my childhood Pastor). Dropping Andy's wedding band on the steps also made it memorable haha

How many guests did you have?

130

Why did you choose the location?

I had looked at quite a few venues, but none worked, and while talking to my mom I mentioned how a farm that I used to ride horses at when I was younger would be the perfect place and I wish I knew who owned it now. Fast forward about a week and my mom called and said her boss just bought that farm, and she would ask her if I could get married there as long as I was not a "bridezilla".

Describe your reception and what made it special.

The reception was a perfect mix of delicious food, drinks, and dancing! I loved having the huge house and fields for people to wander through, as well as space for some corn hole and giant Jenga! What was served for dinner? The Humble Pig catered the reception. For the cocktail hour there were bacon wrapped dates, pimento cheese crostini, and a gorgeous fruit display. Dinner was served buffet style with pulled pork and roasted chicken as the entree. Sides were potato salad, citrus kale salad, macaroni and cheese, and green beans! SO GOOD.

What was the cake flavor?

The cake was the fluffiest white cake ever, with almond buttercream icing.

What advice do you have for brides planning their wedding?

Hire a wedding planner! Nicole saved my life.

What was your favorite moment of the wedding day?

After everyone had eaten, had a few drinks and started dancing! I have never seen my dad dance in my life, so that was pretty entertaining!
