Saxapahaw Haw River Engagement - North Carolina
Saxapahaw Haw River Engagement.
Sarah, a sommelier, and Nick, a medical student, just moved from Alaska and were looking to celebrate their recent engagement out in nature. When they moved to North Carolina they were looking for a place that echoed Alaska's untouched wildness and the town of Saxapahaw was just the place! It is a former mill town on the banks of the Haw River and was settled by the Sissapahaw Native American tribe. It's the piedmont's hidden treasure. So we hiked along the river and Nick told me about how he proposed at sunset at the Golden Gate Bridge. We explored the old dam turned water fall and the incredible brick interior of the old mill structures. There were lots of laughs and giggles and of course champagne to toast their big move and new chapter! Cheers to Sarah and Nick!
