Raleigh NC Winter Wedding
How did you meet? Matthew and I met at his brother’s wedding in Southport, North Carolina. Matt was the best man and I was the maid of honor’s plus 1; my best friend Alli! Alli’s sister was marrying Matt’s brother. Talk about a tongue twister! Now, I am a sister-in-law to my best friend’s sister. Sometimes when I explain the story to people, I literally draw a picture!
How did you know he/she was the "one"? I knew that Matthew was the person for me early on in our relationship because he went above and beyond to ensure I didn’t get sick from my million food allergies. He would take it into his own hands and even pretend at restaurants that HE was the one who had allergies to gluten, milk, eggs, oats, strawberries.... the list goes on. On top of that, he has never tried to change me for who I am and he continuously pushes me to be the best version of myself. On the flip side, Matthew swears the moment he saw me he knew. He said my smile resembled a kind heart and a warm soul. I brought out the famous peach dress that I wore when we first met our honeymoon. It brought back great memories from 5 years ago.
Tell us about the proposal? Matthew proposed to me in the beautiful state of Montana over looking at Glacier National Park. It was snowing and -3 degrees when he popped the question. I’m pretty sure my tears turned to icicles before they dropped to the ground. The proposal was absolutely magical. When we were deciding how we wanted to exit the reception for the wedding, of course, white confetti took the cake. We ended our engagement the same way it started, in “SNOW”!
What was your inspiration? A Winter Wonderland, I’m pretty sure we nailed it! Our favorite hobby is skiing, hence why we were in Montana for the engagement. We also enjoy the winter and love Christmas time. Also, my name means “Christmas Angel” in biblical terms. It made sense to have a winter wedding because it describes us. Chad Biggs and Janna Brown did an amazing job of turning our dream into reality.
Anything else you would like to share? Yes, my fairytale wedding wouldn’t have been possible without my sweet, kind, patient and generous mom. She kept her promise to my Nanny to take me to NYC and be a Kleinfeld bride. Family means everything to Matt and I and we are so blessed that the wedding brought together two families. We wouldn’t be where we are without our supportive parents and siblings.
