Magnolia Plantation and Gardens - Charleston, SC
Magnolia Plantation & Gardens is a 464-acre property located across from the Ashley River in Charleston County, South Carolina. It has received a number of accolades and awards and has been chosen by Travel + Leisure Magazine as one of 'America’s Most Beautiful Gardens.' The plantation features meandering pathways, lush greenery, centuries-old live oak trees, Spanish moss and flowers that bloom all year round.Conservatory. The indoor conservatory is surrounded by different types of tropical flora, such as ferns and orchids and majestic cypress trees. It is an intimate venue that can accommodate up to 60 guests, with the outdoor deck providing extra seating to accommodate a maximum of 70 guests. The French doors and the winding path leading to the gardens add to the venue’s romantic ambience that is enhanced by the view overlooking the red bridge over the Schoolhouse Pond. Plantation House Veranda. The historic Plantation House offers an expansive view of the gardens and is a ideal location for dinner receptions. The 20-foot-wide porch surrounding the house can accommodate up to 150 seated guests. The back lawn can be used for additional space and can accommodate up to 250 guests. The white bridge and the Long White Bridge Lawn is the favorite spot for wedding ceremonies and is only a few steps away from the Plantation House.
Carriage House. The Carriage House was built in 1840 and provides a stunning view of the Ashley River. The venue features wrought iron chandeliers that hang from the exposed beam ceilings, making a ideal complement to the hardwood walls and teak tables. It can accommodate 150 seated guests with indoor dancing or up to 200 guests with the dancing arranged outside on the patio.
