Thomas and Christa were married November 4th, 2017 at Grace Church Downtown. Friends and family surrounded them as they promised forever to each other. These two have been together for what seems like forever. They started dating in high school when Thomas was a senior and Christa was a junior. Everyone was thrilled to see them finally tie the knot! Grace Church Downtown is such a beautiful venue. It is a historically protected building in Greenville and was the home of First Baptist Church for many years.
Christa was so excited and nervous when I showed up to her house at 7 in the morning. Getting ready started early. It was fun hanging out at her house as everyone hustled around to get ready. Christa’s dad held everything together and made sure everyone was on time. Christa’s mother struggled not to cry as she buttoned Christa up. Seeing your baby girl in her wedding dress just a couple of hours before you give her away is very emotional moment for many. Christa’s mother was just so sweet as she helped her daughter prepare to be married. Christa looked incredibly beautiful in her dress.
At the church Thomas was nothing but excited. He was so ready to make the girl of his dreams his wife. He was unable to stop smiling which was adorable. Thomas was so excited as he saw Christa walking down the aisle on her father’s arm. It was a lovely ceremony.
Their reception was held at Larkin’s on the River in downtown Greenville. Larkin’s may be my new favorite place to shoot receptions! The lighting was absolutely incredible. The DJ’s were wonderful as their playlist fit the party perfectly. Thomas and Christa’s first dance was so sweet. It was like they forgot every other person was in the room. It was a wonderful party filled with people who all loved each other. It blessed my heart to celebrate with them. I will say there were a couple times during the reception that truly touched my heart. After cutting the cake a few people gave toasts. Unfortunately, this lovely couple has already experienced great loss in their lives. It was incredibly moving as the family shared about how these family members were missed but would be so happy for them. I tear up now thinking about Thomas with tears rolling down his face, dancing with his grandmother who raised him since he was two years old. The deep love admiration and appreciation was clear for all to see. I also loved the emotional dance Christa shared with her grandfather. They had lost her grandmother in the last year and her presence was greatly missed. It was sweet to see lives honored and celebrated even after they are gone. Thomas and Christa were very thoughtful in the planning of their big day. After the toasts and special dances, the dance floor was opened up and Thomas’s aunts ruled the place. Be sure to see the photos of these beautiful women on the dance floor! Uncle Eddie ended the celebration by showing off his amazing skills on the piano. It was honestly so fun!
I am so happy for this amazing couple and wish them a very long and happy life and marriage! Enjoy!
