Citadel Chapel Charleston Wedding
Citadel Chapel Charleston Wedding.
When Sarah and Cal first got in touch with me about their Citadel wedding in Charleston, I was so thrilled – they were planning a really fun and laid back wedding with a religious ceremony and cute transportation trolley. Sarah and Cal seemed like the nicest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Getting ready: I started shooting at a rental home in Wild Dunes, where the bride and her friends were getting ready, and it was so relaxed, because everyone was in a good mood! Sarah gifted her bridesmaids personalized robes to get ready in to match their bridesmaids dress color! We had some fun during photos on the porch with mimosas all around! Sarah wore an Allure Bridal gown with her mom's veil that she had worn on her wedding day & it was stunning!
The ceremony: The wedding took place at the Citadel Chapel, and was a traditional religious ceremony. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone. They exited the church and walked through a Sword Arch as guests clapped and cheered for the newlyweds!
The reception: The wedding reception took place at Dunes West, which they’d decorated with blue & white linens, lush greenery centerpieces and gold accents. It was gorgeous!
It was a beautifully sunny day, which was lovely. While the guests enjoyed the cocktails, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. . My favorite photo from the portraits is the one where you can see the open back of Sarah's dress with Cal is snuggling up to his bride with the biggest smile.
