Q: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?

A: The theme for the day was celestial- symbolic of all the good times and dark times we have gone through together. We ultimately went with navy with metallic shimmer for our bridal party, and English Garden Florist did a phenomenal job of creating of galaxy flowers with deep hues of magenta, navy, and green. We had an interfaith ceremony at Julia's childhood Catholic church, St. Francis of Assisi.

Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

A: There are so many special moments from our wedding, from walking down the aisle, to Father Steve's homily, to our first dance and dances with our parents. The dress was kept a secret from everyone, except Julia's mom and one of her bridesmaids. The grand reveal was walking down the aisle.Another surprise was that Julia's dad used to be a Carolina shag dancer (official dance of NC, y'all) and he did not know their dance was going to be to The Temptation's "My Girl." It was so fun!Dancing with our family and friends, and just celebrating the entire day was a huge blessing and so much fun!

Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?

A: Pinterest is your best friend. Everyone will ask you for your "Pinterest inspiration" - so download the app to your phone and have everything categorized! That way when asked for it, you can easily pick out what you need. And overall, have so much fun! No need to stress. It's your day, try to live in the moment as much as possible. It goes so fast!
