Callawassie Island Wedding Inspo
Callawassie Island Wedding Inspo.
When this concept was born, our goal was to show a darker side of the Low country to our couples looking for something more. Our concept description evolved into this: “This shoot is as if the Lowcountry and High Fashion had a baby that loves the Little Mermaid”.
With this oh so comical yet sincere description in mind, we gathered a dream team of vendors with the historical Sugar Mill Ruins of Callawassie Island as our backdrop. We focused on incorporating light and dark elements with the scenery, settings, and even our models. We intertwined elements from modern and traditional wedding styles to give the concept a bold contrast. You’ll see subtle nods to the Disney classic and our dearest “Ariel” and “Ursula”, but more importantly, we wanted to showcase the ever changing beauty of the Lowcountry. Someone once told me that they live in the Lowcountry because the scenery they see every day is never the same. The colors of the sky and the marsh constantly change in a myriad of hues, the tides roll in and out, and the wildlife is majestic. We believe this shoot embodies the same spirit.
