Barn at Reynolda Village Shoot - Winston Salem, NC
Barn at Reynolda Village Shoot - Winston Salem, NC.
We are still asking ourselves if the enchanted garden we stumbled upon in Winston-Salem, North Carolina was part of a fairy tale or if in fact we were lucky enough to spend the day romping around the grounds. Just a short walk away from the lush, manicured lawns of Reynolda Gardens our shoot came to life in the elegant white-washed Reynolda Barn on a hot southern day. Inspired by muted feminine neutrals of pale blush, soft mauve, the lightest hint of lavender and a touch of pistachio green, Shea Brianne Photography captured eye candy for the modern bride.
Marla Lawson and her sweet husband relived their wedding day with us. Marla in a stunning gown by Limor Rosen - soft , feminine, and with intricate details woven throughout and her husband in a slate blue suit. Together their presence felt almost regal - a steadfast and unwavering connection.
As a designer, I wanted to show how impactful thoughtfully placed details could be. The soft and delicate calligraphy pieces against a bold ombre sash created a sense of refined romance. I had envisioned a large and lush floral installation - like something I had seen growing on the white washed buildings of Santorini - and Cotton Social delivered beyond my wildest dreams. The greenery was all foraged and each steam individually placed to create an incredibly organic and ethereal masterpiece. The installation was not only the focal point of the ceremony but doubled as the backdrop for the reception - perfectly framing the space and drawing you in. The head table inspiration although muted in tone, was strong and full of texture from the herringbone linen to the rattan chargers and the only floral present was what adorned each place card.

At the heart of all of my designs is an element of practicality and to be relatable. I am creating for brides with varying budgets and want to encourage them to use their local resources, make selections that are meaningful and authentic to them, and to incorporate details into the spaces that hold the most impact.
